Privacy Policy

DawgPound Audio LLC (“DawgPound Audio,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) makes audio software, including the NOIR Reverb plugin and other audio products. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we do and do not collect.

The short version: our audio plugins do not collect personal data for marketing, analytics, or profiling, and they do not record or transmit your audio. The only information our plugins transmit is the minimum necessary to verify your license, and the only personal information we collect through our website is what you voluntarily provide if you contact us by email, sign up for our mailing list, or purchase a product.

Our plugins — whether installed as Audio Unit, VST3, AAX, AUv3, or Standalone applications on macOS, iOS, or Windows — operate locally on your device. Audio processing happens entirely on your machine.

We do not:

• Track usage, behavior, or analytics
• Record, store, or transmit your audio
• Use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising SDKs
• Access your contacts, photos, location, or other personal data on your device
• Sell or share any data we may collect with third parties for marketing

Our plugins do:

• Process audio that you provide as input. On the iOS Standalone app, this includes audio from the device microphone or audio interface, used solely for real-time audio processing. Audio is never recorded by the plugin, never stored, and never transmitted off your device.
• Save plugin settings and presets locally on your device. These files remain on your device and are never sent to us or to anyone else.
• Communicate with our licensing provider for license activation and verification. See the next section.

Our plugins use a third-party licensing service, Moonbase AS (“Moonbase”), to verify that the copy of the software you are using is properly licensed. This is necessary to combat software piracy and to enable customer features such as activating the plugin on a new computer.

When you activate or verify a license, the following information is transmitted to Moonbase:

• A non-identifying device fingerprint generated from your computer's hardware and operating system characteristics (used to associate a license with a specific device)
• Your license key or license file
• The product name and version
• The IP address of the device performing the activation (collected automatically by Moonbase as part of standard network communications)
• The email address associated with your license, if you have signed in to the activation interface

This information is used solely to verify your license and manage your activations. Moonbase processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy, which is available at https://app.moonbase.sh/support/help/articles/8698251-privacy-policy.

After a license is successfully activated, the plugin may operate offline. Online verification may occur periodically (with grace periods to permit continued offline use) or when you choose to activate or deactivate an additional device.

If you use offline activation, the plugin generates a request file on your computer that you transfer to Moonbase via our customer portal; Moonbase returns a signed license file that you transfer back to your computer. In this flow, no direct internet communication occurs from the plugin itself.

We do not receive identifying analytics about which plugin features you use, what audio you process, what projects you work on, or how often you use the software.

When you visit dawgpoundaudio.com, our hosting provider may automatically log standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and operational purposes. This is standard server logging and is not used to build profiles of visitors.

If you choose to sign up for our email list, we collect the email address you provide. We use it solely to send you updates and newsletters about DawgPound Audio products. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We do not sell, rent, or share email addresses with third parties.

If you contact us at support@dawgpoundaudio.com, we receive whatever information you include in your message. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry.

When you purchase a product from our website, your purchase is sold and fulfilled by our merchant of record, Moonbase AS (“Moonbase”), an authorized reseller of DawgPound Audio products. Moonbase handles the payment transaction, collects and remits applicable taxes (such as sales tax and VAT), processes refunds, and provides the customer account portal through which you manage your licenses and downloads.

Because Moonbase is the merchant of record, your payment is made to Moonbase, not directly to DawgPound Audio. We do not see, collect, or store your full credit card number, bank account details, or other sensitive payment credentials. Moonbase handles that information directly under its own privacy policy and security standards.

We receive from Moonbase only the information needed to support you and fulfill your order — typically your name, email address, billing country, the product(s) you purchased, and a transaction reference. We use this information to provide customer support, manage your license, communicate about your purchase, and keep records as required by law.

Purchases made through the Apple App Store are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your payment information from App Store purchases. Apple may share with us a redacted transaction record sufficient to acknowledge the purchase.

If you opt in to our marketing list — through our website signup form or at checkout — we will send you product announcements, release news, occasional discounts, and similar communications. We use Mailchimp (or a similar email service provider) to deliver these messages. Mailchimp processes your email address on our behalf under its own privacy policy.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. Unsubscribing removes your address from our marketing list but does not affect transactional communications related to a purchase or license you hold.

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of any personal information we hold about you
• Unsubscribe from our email list at any time
• Request information about how Moonbase processes your data on our behalf, or contact Moonbase directly using the contact information in its privacy policy
